About Kids Club Lean
About:
You have your child’s best interest at heart, but how do you incorporate good nutrition and regular exercise into their busy schedules? How do you ensure that obesity, America’s number one health crisis, doesn’t put your own family at risk? I can help. I’m committed to helping parents understand L.E.A.N. - Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition - a program focusing on how families live, move, think and eat, developed by “America’s Pediatrician,” Dr. William Sears.

Unique qualities:
Ever since I became a parent, I’ve been passionate about making sure my children eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. That passion extends to you.  I want to help other children and their families build a foundation to enjoy excellent health and long, happy lives.

Would like you to know:
With 17 years in the corporate world and degrees in computer science and marketing, I have the experience and know-how to do what it takes to achieve goals.  I had always tried to make good food choices, but two specific events helped me discover my calling. First was my brother’s stroke at the young age of 53 - after he had already had a heart attack nine years earlier. A definite wake-up call for me to develop healthier habits. Second was my son, Ian’s, science fair project on the evils of fast food, with its preservatives and trans fat. (Ian’s nutrition projects are featured on the Dr. Sears L.E.A.N. site - http://www.drsearslean.com/ians_experiment.html)  These events lead me to take more seriously my decisions about what to feed my family. I also started exercising again, and even challenge myself with marathons and triathlons!

Recently, my brother underwent quintuple bypass surgery at age 55. My concern for his health makes me even more vigilant than I already was.  To stay healthy and live long, happy lives, we must live healthy lifestyles, exercise regularly, maintain positive attitudes and eat nutritious foods!

Who can benefit most:
L.E.A.N. helps overweight, underweight and “just right” children - nutrition and physical activity can affect their health, behavior and ability to learn.  My work with L.E.A.N. ultimately helps the whole family. I give parents the education they need to implement healthy habits into their children’s lives. Without that foundation, children suffer the consequences.

Helping others:
I’m committed to helping you implement the fundamentals of L.E.A.N. into your family life. I love helping parents provide the best life for their children by teaching Dr. Sears’ proven philosophy on Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition.
